Children’s Picture Books on Amazon Kindle-By Jimmy Brown
Well it’s been a long time coming. I got a diploma in Children’s Lit back in 1983. After years of trying to be published the traditional way…I caved and gave up. All my work stored in what writer’s call, “The Trunk.” Stephen King writes about trunk novels in some of his works that feature authors. Now I don’t have 10-20 novels stored up but I wouldn’t be surprised if Mr. King does.
Actually picture books is not what I studied and not what I wrote. My course and the works that came out of that were for about the 10-14 year old crowd. And while the 1st and 2nd readers at the publishing house always had great things to say, well I never made it past them to the big cheese editor. So why picture books?? Well a couple of reasons really. My son is an adult who hates reading, never ever liked it and didn’t want to be read to. My nieces and nephews are all grown up as well…the youngest is 12. However the grandnieces and nephews are coming along. Some I get to meet and love, others are not in my life for sad reasons which we won’t dwell on.
So my first picture book is written for a grandniece by the name of Sara. She is a sweet little girl, very shy about talking but loves to high five. She loves Vietnamese music shows and drawing…oh yes and the pink raccoon that her really huge Great White Uncle bought for her.
I have 6 other picture books already designed and in the writing process. All these books are aimed at ages 4-8. There are some amazing children’s picture books for that age group on Amazon Kindle and I hope that parents and children enjoy the work that all the writers do.
So here is the first of my picture books, that I hope your children will like. It’s about the magic of having a wonderful Mommy who will take you for walks in magical places. Enjoy.
